No, the lakers will have to give up too much to get him, and the team will be better if Kidd joins.
why would they do that?? They have a veteran Derrick Fisher who was starting on that Lakers team that won 3 titles in a row.
before the Gasol trade I would say yes...however now I'm saying no

NO! They would have to give up at least Bynum, Farmar and maybe even one of their forwards (Luke or Trevor). Its not worth it, they have a great team right now and everyone is playing great together
honestly that's a good idea, but SALARY CAP iss getting on their way, they already have three luxurious players in the name of Bryant, Gasol, and Odom. getting Kidd might mean another blockbuster trade. remember during Gasol's trade, they sign-and-trade Aaron Mckie (waived by LAL) just to match Gasol's salary. if they do that again that means they need to give up at least three good supporting players just to match Kidd's luxurious salary, and its not really worth it.

and somehow the LAL have Fisher, which is veteran point guard, and a D-League star point guard, Farmar.

with regards to Kidd, Dallas might be a perfect fit for him, but Dallas' GM Mark Cuban is not on the role of getting soon to retire players, not unless his desperate for a Championship. I think Kidd should go to a team without a legit superstar. Memphis, Clippers, Minnesota, and of course Portland.

no, the lakers have good point guards of their own. Besides, kidd's to expensive and it's also bad to change players often so as not to disrupt the team's jelling process.

They would have to give up to much. They already traded Crittenton, and the shouldn't give up Fahrmer sp, Expect Cleveland or Dallas to go after Kidd. Plus New Jersey wants Bynum. Why would the Lakers do that?
the lakers already have fisher(an experienced PG) and farmar(the future PG) and also alot of salary concerns, they need to find a way to resign Bynum to a max extension, so no way kidd is also going to come with his 20mill salary!

Point guard pos. is one of the Lakers strongsuits..D Fish can hit his open shot (J Kidd cant)..I absolutely love Farmar, the kid always makes good decisions, he's Kirk Hinrich w/ more athletism.

Triangle offense not condusive to Kidd's style..remember Gary Payton..
