I want the Lakers to face the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals...

this is the best rivalry in the league, dating back to the glory days of the 60s (when it was Baylor, West, [and later on] Wilt for the Lakers up against Bill Russell, Coach Red Auerbach, and the classic Celtics dynasty) and the 80s (Bird-Parrish-McHale for the Celtics vs Magic-Kareem-Worthy of the Showtime Lakers squad)...

it would surely be a classic match that would go down the wire, and the NBA ratings would surely hit its best...

What would be exciting, should Boston and LA square off, is how the matchups would fare... the trio of Garnett-Pierce-Allen up against the fast rising Kobe-Gasol-Odom trio... and of course, there's also the core of the 2 squads that would help make the difference... Rondo, Cassell, Big Baby Davis, Perkins for Boston, against Fisher, Vlad, Sasha, Turiaf, Farmar, etc.

This is one matchup that i would really look forward to, and may the best team win... I want the Lakers to win, yes... being a diehard Lakers fan, but i admit that they will be underdogs against the taller and stronger Boston squad...

Forget all of the Boston vs, L.A hype... A Finals rematch against Detroit is exactly what L.A needs..

A chance to break a part a team who had a part in putting a bad taste in an era. Kobes shot at revenge..

What makes it even better, is that it is basically the same Pistons team, there will be a lot of emotional significane if this series were to play out, especially between Kobe and D-Fish.

A great Finals.. More of a significant victory, me as a Laker fan, I dont want my team going through easy roads, I want drama, I want it so the media has no exscuses to make..

AND I ALSO WANT THE LAKERS TO SEEK AND DESTROY..

Destroy the Spurs for taking advantage of no superior competition, due to the beak up of the team they could not beat..

Destroy Detroit for pulling out a great upset in 04

Honestly? Neither team. I am not hoping for anyone. They're both tough teams. Boston Celtics is a dangerous team despite having a hard time and being exposed in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have the experience like the Spurs. They have a younger, deeper and better bench than the defending champs. But as an Lakers and NBA Fan, I would love to see the Lakers VS Celtics in the finale for a fairy-tale Finals match-up. It gives you goose bumps watching the old powers squaring out again for the championship!

They wouldnt have home court over Detroit or boston as far as i know. I would like to see them take on the Pistons. If they take down one of the recent champs in the Spurs on the way to win i want to see them take the other. Detroits been to the conference finals and won a ring together. Lets take them on. Boston hasnt proven anything to us yet and I dont really think they are going to. They may beat Detroit in 7 but come on it took them 7 games to beat Atlanta. Atlanta would have never even been in the top 10 teams in the west. Then they struggled against lebron while he was playing horribly. He is the whole team and Boston had to take them 7 games. I think we would sweep Boston or atleast steal one of the first two then have three straight in LA. Over in 5 eitherway Boston or Detroit
If I was a Lakers fan I wouldn't care who will they face in the Finals, here's my point:

1- Detroit: By pride!!! That's a rematch for 2004, and every Lakers fans would be waiting for that Finals.

2- Boston: Old rivalry, the logical finals: #1 in the East meets #1 in the West.
My family wants Boston cause it would bring back the 80's rivalry but I still want Detroit cause it would give them the revenge they wanted since 2004, and to prove that the Big Three are a fluke and that Rasheed will never predict on winning games in the playoffs

If I was a Laker fan I would shoot myself. LOL!!!! But I am counting on Detroit to make if back to a rematch and repeat what they done in 2004.
I asked this question myself i prefer boston... they simply seem like an easier team to beat.
i'll go for the pistons cause they the perfect teamwork team. all of them scores just below 15 pts but they win.
it doesnt matter, lakers will be crown as champion again

the Celtics would be easier to beat since they suck on the road and the Lakers aren't that bad on the road. The Pistons would be tougher because they have good guards who can defend against Kobe.
